Rafael Pondé

Rafael Pondé is a musician based out the Brazilian city of Salvador, Bahia, and creates a smooth sound that mixes both traditional Brazilian rhythms and contemporary feels to create thought provoking music that provides both a joy to the ear and a soothing sensation to the soul.Rafael Ponde packs night clubs in Brazil with a crowd that both enjoys his music and the scene it creates. The vibe that his fans exchange with him and his band has allowed him to share with the world his vision of heart-felt music, poetry, and passion. Rafael Ponde is one of these artists, creating music from the heart, and pushing the envelope of modern music.

He is now a strong name in the brazilian music scene. In the beginning of his career, as a guitar player and composer on the bahian reggae band Diamba, has played with names like: The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Culture, Andrew Tosh, Naçao Zumbi, O Rappa, among others. On 2004, Pondé released his first solo CD "Atomos, palavras e cancoes", which figured on the top charts in Bahia and had positive reviews by the local critics. At that point, Pondés music concept had changed its focus (that has been primarly reggae) to influences of other brazilian styles, such as bossa, maracatú and rock. The positive feedback of his first CD brought out an invitation for being part, as a guitar player and singer, of the 2005 national tour of Natiruts, the brazilian most sucessfull reggae and dub band. He stayed in the band until July 2006, when he left to focus on his solo career again. On September 2006, Rafael was invited to be the music director and the guitar player on the Brazillian tour of the famous Reggae band "Culture", there, he performed a big concert for 30.000 people in Bahia.

November 2006, Rafael did a big tour on Europe, including 8 Concerts on Portugal and 2 concerts on Barcelona .On December 2006, he toured on Argentina for the first time and performed 2 concerts there.2007, Rafael Pondé finished his third solo CD, "eu e meu violão" (2007)and was again on European Tour - Berlin,Hannover - Germany and a several Concerts in Portugal.
